Employers should provide information on the risks of noise in the workplace, symptoms of hearing damage and available preventive measures. Fostering a hearing safety culture in which workers feel comfortable reporting any noise-related problems is critical.

Continuous monitoring of noise levels and employee hearing health is essential to ensure the effectiveness of preventive measures. Periodic hearing assessments can be conducted to detect any signs of hearing impairment early and take corrective action as needed.

Preventing hearing disorders not only benefits workers, but also companies. Reducing the incidence of noise-related injuries can reduce costs associated with workers’ compensation claims and absenteeism.
